Heart, don't be afraid

Dachi, a young and isolated dreamer from the conservative highlands of Lechkhumi, Georgia, grapples with his queer identity. In this religious community dominated by Archbishop Stephan, who leads a holy war against dissenting beliefs, Dachi's family rejects his sexuality, subjecting him to abuse and futile conversion efforts. Despite living in his parents' home, they ignore his identity, especially his mother, who favors his younger brother.
Amidst this turmoil, Dachi finds solace in 84-year-old Vardo, a traditional Georgian spell caster. Through her, he discovers a refuge where he feels seen and understood. Learning her magical techniques becomes his means to escape societal oppression and forge a reality where he can be his true self.
