Thorntree

Hidden on a dead-end street in the heart of Leith in Edinburgh is a 4 story building, a group home for alcoholic men called Thorntree.
Billy and Ronnie live on the top floor. They are the kings of the castle. But when a female lover gets between them a jealous riff ruptures their friendship, causing them to spiral out of control.
On the next floor down, Stevie goes through withdrawals from his vodka addiction. He is going into rehab tomorrow, but for now, he needs to survive the night.
Gerry and Donald are neighbours on the 1st floor but live opposite lives. Donald returns from the hospital and starts his cycle of drinking again while Gerry celebrates his 2nd year of sobriety.
Together with the filmmaker, this group of men come together in the common area on the ground floor. They take part in a psychodrama therapy session held by 5 women. In these sessions, the men recount past trauma and have it reenacted in front of them by the women.
