I am an up and coming filmmaker with a background in international development.

I moved into the development sector after working as a regional print journalist and researcher for the BBC. During that time I worked in some of the most difficult countries in the world, including South Sudan and Burma.

I went freelance in 2010 to pursue a career in documentaries. Since then I have produced two short films; one on the food crisis in Burkina Faso for Christian Aid, which appeared on the Guardian Development site and the other about a Sri Lankan doctor coming to Huddersfield for Rockhopper TV for The Health Show on BBC World. I am about to complete a 20 minute film on building disaster resilient communities for Christian Aid.

I have worked as a researcher and AP on various documentaries, including a short documentary on female football referees in DRC directed by Ruhi Hamid.

I visited Western Sahara last year where I met human rights activists who I am now working with on this film.
