
Pauline Blanchet

Pauline Blanchet is a French-British award-winning film director and producer whose work explores nationalism, identity, and belonging through politically engaged storytelling. She runs Aral Sea Productions, developing films across documentary, animation, and XR. Her feature in production Big in Gazi Baba, a coming-of-age documentary presented at Sheffield DocFest’s MeetMarket and East Doc Platform and has won the Cannes Docs Award and the IDF East Silver Caravan Award. She is also directing What You Remember, an archive-led film on historical erasure and memory politics in Skopje, supported by Sandbox Films (Special Mention, AFO 2024). Other projects include Hope is Lost, a stop motion animation (BFI London Film Festival) (stop-motion) and the short Zuckerberg You Owe/Own Me (AFO, Images Festival, London Short Film Festival). She holds an MA in Urbanism and is now completing a PhD at the University of London on urban belonging in North Macedonia.
