Delia Marinescu is a Romanian journalist with over a decade of experience. Her reporting and writing appeared in Der Spiegel, Al Jazeera Balkans, New York Times, VICE and in the most respected Romanian media outlets. She published stories from Romania, USA, Brazil and Pakistan on a wide range of social issues. Her investigative work had national and international impact: a cult leader from Transylvania was arrested and Ulrich Seidl's "Sparta" was withdrawn from the Toronto International Film Festival, after she and her colleagues exposed wrongdoings. She is the recipient of Fulbright’s Hubert Humphrey fellowship in 2020-2021, when she studied and worked for 9 months in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also an alumna of the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network Summer School in 2022 and of the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2018. At the moment she is co-directing her first feature documentary, “Yesterday Ended Last Night” (Director: Oana Țenter, Producers: Ada Solomon, Carla Fotea - microFILM).
