Copenhagen-based filmmaker focused on the themes of the human culture and human spirit. Her approach as a documentarist is co-creating processes that she facilitates, but making the cast and participants themselves explore and express.
Sofie has lived and worked in different parts of Asia with different human rights organisations, documentary festivals and distributions platforms. As the mainstream media feeds us with stories of oppression, she believes we need stories of compassion and likes to explore the connection between the personal and the political - our social structures and our mental structures. Sofie has studied journalism at Hong Kong University and holds a MA in Visual Culture studies and a BA in Film and Media studies from the University of Copenhagen.
