Natasha never imagined she would one day fight for the rights of refugees in court. Once a commercial lawyer, her life changed during the “long summer of migration.” What began with asylum applications led her to one of the most political cases in Europe — the Pylos shipwreck, one of the deadliest in the Mediterranean.
Natasha defended Muhammed, one of nine refugees accused of smuggling and blamed for more than 600 deaths. Now the tables have turned: Muhammed and other survivors are suing the Greek authorities, and Natasha stands by their side. They want to uncover who is truly responsible for the tragedy, even if it means taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights.
Told from her perspective, the film portrays a woman torn between her duty to her clients and her role as a mother, struggling with exhaustion in a hostile political climate. SHE HOLDS THE LINE explores what it means to hold on to your convictions when human rights themselves are under threat.
