Benas Gerdziunas is a filmmaker, photographer and journalist based in Vilnius, Lithuania. His work centres on conflict in the Baltics and Eastern Europe.

He is the author of three, long-term digital storytelling projects – Relocants: Surviving Minsk, Rojava: The Forgotten Revolution, and Ukraine: Grey Zone. The latter received an award at the World Press Photo 2021 contest. Since 2019, Benas has worked as a field producer for multiple short and TV-format documentary productions about the Baltic states for various European public broadcasters.

In 2023-24, Benas co-directed a documentary about Belarusian fighters in Ukraine for the Lithuanian public broadcaster (LRT), which was later screened in Estonia and by the BBC. Benas is now dedicated to covering the war in Ukraine and exploring the relationship between the Baltic states and Russia.
