Cristina Yurena Zerr

Cristina Yurena Zerr studied International Development at the University of Vienna in Bachelor, and currently attends classes at the University of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with a focus on photography and film. As a production assistant, she worked with the director Tina Leisch (kinoki) from 2014-2017, participated in summerschools, international masterclasses and seminars with focus on documentary film (eg INNSBRUCK film CAMPUS, FilmArche Berlin, DrehbuchFORUM Vienna) and has been part of the women’s film festival FrauenFilmTage organizing team since 2017. In addition, she organizes film screenings and discussions for adolescent refugees with emphasis on women's empowerment in Vienna. In her photographs and recent short film she deals mainly with socio-political issues such as illegalized migration or resistance against deportation ("Von Mauern und Rissen. Grenzgedanken") - a short film which was screened in ethnocineca Film Festival Vienna.
