Franziska Schönenberger

Franziska is an author and photographer living and working in Munich. She received numerous awards for her journalistic work in India. Since completing her Masters in Media Studies she has worked for broadcasting corporations such as ARTE and ARD. She also assisted documentary filmmaker Nishta Jain in Mumbai. At present she is a student of documentary film at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (University for Television and Film Munich, or HFF Munich). Her films were shown at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich amongst other places. Her last film, “Amma & Appa”, had its world premiere at the Berlinale 2014 and got a cinematic release in Germany. “Amma & Appa” was cooperation with the Indian artist and filmmaker Jayakrishnan Subramanian. The film has been shown at numerous festivals, e.g. Warsaw Film Festival. At the moment she holds a Media Art Scholarship of the University of Television and Film Munich together with Jayakrishnan for her „The Shadows of the Desert“.
