ESoDoc INDIA is a new training initiative for Indian and European documentary filmmakers who are working on social or environmental themes, supported by MEDIA International and run by ZeLIG School for Documentary, Television and New Media (IT) in partnership with FORMEDIA – Foundation for Responsible Media (IND). ESoDoc INDIA wants to develop documentary projects that have a potential for the Indian and European market and are intended for broadcsat, NGO, dvd and/or Internet.

- assistance to concept your visual project presentation: the trailer
- inter-cultural collaboration Europe-India with exchange of ideas and information
- a on-line working schedule for the initial development phase of your project September to December 2010

ESoDoc 2009 participant Paulina Tervo has been accepted to "The Pixel Lab: The Cross-Media Film Workshop", which will take place from July 4 till 10 in London. The lab is aimed at European media professionals with a strong track record in their sector, and has a particular focus on the creation, finance and distribution of cross-media properties to create sustainable European media businesses.

ESoDoc at Sunny Side of the Doc: two projects at the BIPS

Hugh Purcell, ESoDoc's Head of Studies, will be presenting ESoDoc EU and ESoDoc INDIA during the 21st edition of Sunny Side of the Docs, which will take place in La Rochelle from June 21 till 25.

The presentation will take place on Thursday 24 at 5:30pm, in the Conference Room inside the Sunny Side Market building.
In this presentation, Hugh Purcell will show extracts from remarkable film documentaries that have changed the world, points out how the www has become a truly interactive and democratic forum for social change and surprises us by the quality of 'participatory videos' where the subject becomes the filmmaker.

"Birds way" at the 58th Trento Film Festival

"Birds Way" by Klára Trencsényi and Vlad Naumescu will be screened on May 3rd at the 58th Trento Film Festival.
"Birds Way" has been developed during ESoDoc 2006. The film is a creative documentary that guides us to a remote Old Believers‘ village in the Danube Delta, Romania - following the route of migrant birds.
